About Loupe
What it is
Loupe is a discovery and community platform for indie games. We surface indie games you'd love before anyone else has heard of them. We don't sell games — Steam does. We point you to the ones worth your time.
The problem
In 2025, ~19,000 games shipped on Steam. Roughly half got fewer than 10 reviews. Most are bad — but a meaningful minority are quietly excellent. They're invisible because every channel that's supposed to surface new things is biased toward games that don't need help.
The contrarian commitment
Loupe's recommendation algorithm is biased against games that already have an audience. This is a commitment, not a feature. Even when engagement metrics suggest dialing it back, we won't.
What Loupe is not
Not a store. Not a Steam replacement. Not for AAA games. Not pay-to-rank — featured placement is earned through quality and player engagement, never from ad spend. Not a content firehose; we examine games and surface the ones worth playing.
